"Ah hello children, you're friend is just inside," Grandmother Willow said allowing Fira and Tommy through.
"Come to pick up Fireball I see," Venus said standing there petting Fireball.
Tommy looked at her, "You can pet Fireball too."
Fira giggle, "Water can tame fire too that's the only reason why. So Venus what you been up to?"
"Just swimming the currents, I have my dress ready for tomorrow, it's so blue, I love it."
"That's great Venus...wait tomorrow! Uh we got to go. See you later Venus."Fira grabbed Fireball and and tommy and hurried back to the path."Tommy I got to get to town, do you wanna come?"
"Sure."Tommy and Fira climbed on to Fireball's back and they hurried to town. Fira led Fireball to Steve's house.
She got off and turned to Tommy, "Wait here." She went inside and found Steve. "You don't have to do it anymore."
"Do what?" Steve asked.
Fira sighed, "You don't have to pretend to marry me at the party. Tommy agreed if I can get my mother and father's blessing."
"How hard is that going to be?" Steve asked. "I mean how are you going to get your mother's blessing?"
Fira shook her head, "I'm not totally sure, but I will find a way. That's promise."
"Well good luck," Steve said as Fira walked to the door. "Oh ya ,Fira, am I still invited though?"
"Of course," Fira said closing the door behind her. Tommy was standing by Fireball waiting, "All done."
Tommy nodded and grabbed Fireball's reign, "Wanna walk around for a bit?"
"Sure, beside Fikia might have another 'candy' bag," Fira said giggling. She climbed on to Fireball's back, "And we're off!" She leaned over like a horse racer and Tommy started walking with Fireball. When they got to the candy store Fira leaned up laughing, "And Fira wins the race!" She tipped over and fell off of Fireball, "OUCH!"
Tommy ran around to her, "Fira, you okay?"
"Yeah but my butt hurts," she said and they both cracked up laughing. Tommy helped her up and they went inside.
"Hey! we here for a delivery for Fikia, got any candy?"Fira asked the candy man. He smiled,"Yup got a bag right here for her." He pulled a bag from under the counter and handed it to Fira. She handed 2 dollars over to him. "Thanks,"Fira said."I'll be sure she gets it." They smiled and walked outside. Fira quickly opened the bag and searched for the note inside. She found it and pulled it out. It read, 'Same place, same time, Love, Alex'. Fira smiled,"You wanna go out tonight? Only one day left." "Sure,"Tommy said."but you have to tell your mother before." Fira frowned,"Do I have to? Can't I just tell her at the party?" Tommy shook his head and sighed, "Fira, if you wait to long then she's not gonna trust you or want you to be with me. You need to tell her soon." Tommy climbed onto Fireball. "Come on. We should head back." "Okay," Fira said as she climbed up behind Tommy. She wrapped her arms around his waist and leaned in against his back. Tommy whispered for Fireball to go, and they started heading back. While Tommy paid attention to maneuvering Fireball, Fira thought about what she was going to tell her mother. They got to the castle and climbed down from Fireball's back. "I'll put Fireball up. You go ahead and go inside,"Tommy said as he headed into the stable. Fira sighed and headed towards the castle. She'd tell her mother after she changed. Inside the stable Ryan was waiting for Tommy. When Ryan saw Tommy he said,"You really should stop leading her on if you're not going to take care of her." "I'm not..."Tommy tried to say but Ryan continued.
"She's not gonna wait around for you to make up your..."Ryan started, but Tommy stopped him. Tommy placed his hand on Fireball's mane and stared into Ryan's eyes,"I'm not leading her on anymore. I want to marry her, but..." "There you go with your buts again! Don't you see that is what is..." Tommy smacked Ryan's arm,"I wasn't finished. As I was saying, I want to marry her but, I want her family's approval." "You mean that you finally gave in.....wait, by family, you mean her mother too?" Tommy nodded,"Yes. If her mother doesn't approve of me I wouldn't feel right being part of her family." Ryan stared at Tommy with disappointment, "You know she's not gonna tell her mother." "She will. I believe in her," Tommy said putting Fireball into her stall and walking out of the stable. Meanwhile, Fira changed into her simple red dress again. She looked at herself in the mirror and nodded. "This is as ready as I'm going to be." She walked out into the hall and slowly walked down the hall. She had played the scene over and over in her head. If her mother didn't approve she'd run away and not come back until her mother was forced to agree with her marrying Tommy. She loved him to much to let anything or anyone get in the way. When she reached her parent's room she knocked lightly and opened the door. "Mother? Father? Are you in here?" "Right here dear," she heard her mother say. She turned around and her mother and father were sitting by the desk. She walked over and looked at them both in the face. "I have something very important to tell both of you." They stared at her with a blank face, waiting for the information. Fira sighed,"I want to marry Tommy."Her mother's mouth dropped and the father's face turned bright tomato red. They both stared at Fira, without blinking. Fira felt as if she was going to fall apart and cry. She straighten her back and locked her knees, she stared straight back at them and waited for a response. Suddenly her mother's arms were around her hugging her and her mother was crying, "I'm so happy for you. I know he'll make a great husband."
